STATE Festival at Berlin Lab, Los Angeles

Berlin and Los Angeles, two of the worlds most exciting creative capitals, are sister cities and 2017 is the 50th anniversary. Organized by Berlin city marketing agency Berlin Partner, Berlin and Los Angeles people, projects, initiatives and companies were joining forces to celebrate this very special birthday with the two day festival Berlin Lab in downtown Los Angeles on Oct 4&5, 2017.

Berlin Lab at LOT 613, Berlin Lab offered an authentic taste of Berlin’s emerging tech, art, music, and food scenes for more than 3000 visitors during the two event days. As part of this, STATE Festival brought to Los Angeles a representation of Berlin's thriving open science and creative scene with three individual programs: the Brain City Networking Station together with Berlin Sciences, the first show of the Curious Minds photo exhibition by Veronika Natter, and a bi-city panel discussion on Urban Creativity in Berlin and Los Angeles

Other programming included a robust schedule of cultural panels, workshops, interactive music stations, street art by Die Dixons, a conference programmed by Europe´s largest interdisciplinary technology festival from Berlin, Tech Open Air, a design symposium commemorating bauhaus100 of the Bauhaus movement, a "Lange Tafel" that will take place on Thursday and invite the public to share food and stories of freedom, and a closing party.
